Central Park runs alongside the Park Avenue shopping district, with 11 acres of lawn, oak shade and places to sit. For a short outing, start at 251 S. Park Avenue and choose a bench by one of the fountains.
Walk toward the southern edge of the park for the rose garden. The park’s fountains and planted borders give you a few reasons to pause along the way. On festival days, allow extra time to get through the downtown blocks.
